Øystein Lian
MD PhDCV
Øystein B. Lian MD, PhD at the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Centre at the University of Sport and Physical Education. He received his medical degree from the University of Oslo in 1981. He has been a specialist in family medicine since 1992, and he was authorized as a specialist in orthopaedic surgery in 2000. He is a member of the Medical commission of the Norwegian Volleyball Federation and serves as team physician for the national teams in indoor volleyball. His main research area is tendon overuse injuries, with special emphasis on patellar tendinopathy.
He has competed in and coached volleyball at the elite national level and has won national championships.
