Tone Bere defended her PhD-thesis at Oslo Sport Trauma Research Center, Norwegian School of Sport Sciences, in April 2013. She spent her 4-year PhD period on a video analysis project connected to the FIS Injury Surveillance System with a specific focus on ACL injury mechanisms in World Cup alpine skiing. 
Tone is a physical therapist and was educated at Bergen University College (2002), and she has a master degree in Sport Physical Therapy at Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (2008). After her PhD, Tone moved to Qatar for two years to continue as a post-doc researcher at the Aspetar Orthopediac and Sports Medicine Hospital, a collaboration project with the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center. 
She is now working as a research coordinator at the Orthopaedic Department, Oslo University Hospital Ullevaal.
