CV

Dr. med Stig Heir er spesialist i Ortopedisk kirurgi og arbeider til daglig som seksjonsoverlege ved ortopedisk avdeling, Martina Hansens Hospital i Bærum.

I 2011 disputerte Stig med avhandlingen "Focal Cartilage Defects in the Knee" etter å ha vært stipendiat ved Senter for idrettsskadeforskning, Norges Idrettshøgskole og Institutt for Kirurgisk forskning, Rikshospitalet.

Stig Heir er autorisert som Idrettslege NIMF og har vært landslagslege for Norges Skiforbund - Freestyle siden 1991. Hans forskningsaktivitet er delt mellom 1) Metoder for behandling av fokale bruskskader i ledd og 2) Forebygging av alvorlige kneskader på ski - med utgangspunkt i Freestyle. Stig Heir er tidligere aktiv utøver av langrenn og orientering.
