Sverre Løken MD, PhD is a consultant in orthopedic surgery at Oslo University Hospital, Unit for arthroscopic surgery, Oslo. He is a specialist in general and orthopedic surgery, and is authorized as Sports Medicine Physician (Idrettslege NIMF) by the Norwegian Society of Sports Medicine. He has previously served as team physician for the Norwegian national rowing team. His main research areas are knee and hip injuries.  He has also worked on rowing injuries (back injuries and rib stress fractures). In 2010 he defended his PhD «Cartilage injuries in the knee – natural history and surgical repair» at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo.

Sverre is a former World champion and Olympic bronze medalist in rowing.
